Toddler TaeKwonDo

We're desperately looking for a Toddler TaeKwonDo class we can enroll Addi in. She has been attacked twice at the gym by little boys. And by little boys I mean younger than her. The first time she was scratched up (see below) and the second time she was bit on the cheek. Both times my Mother Bear instincts were revealed and I was ready to take down the gym attendants who were "watching" the kids.
I'm so torn because I've been on both ends of the spectrum. Karissa was the fighter and bite-er and Addison is so loving she wouldn't dare strike another child. Guess I'm going to have to teach her some baby self-defense!

Under a spell

Recently Karissa started chewing on her hair. The sight of hair in her mouth makes me gag. Such an utterly disgusting habit. Rewards and punishments simply aren't working.
Help!! Any ideas?

This morning as I was attempting to put her hair in a half pony-tail and realizing the hair around her face is shrinking, I begged her to stop. Karissa simply replied, "Mom, I'm under a spell."

As you can imagine I was speechless and still am.

Sleepover Confessions

(My sister Kayla and her family came out to the coast to celebrate her 30th Birthday. We had a fun family dinner at BJ's and went to our community theater to see Annie. Lucky us the Martzs' spent the night.)
Confessions #1 - The Meyring girls still love to talk and talk. We could have stayed in our PJ's till noon. The time went by way too fast.

Confession #2 - In an effort to delay their journey home Milloy hid his Beaver in our
couch cushions. We'll be mailing it to him tomorrow. (He gave
Karissa permission to sleep with Mr. Beaver tonight.)

Sleepover #2 - Our sweet niece Kayley decided since her sister went to a Slumber Party, she needed to sleepover at our house. After packing her rolling pack-pack full of clothes and Pj's, Karissa and I picked her up.

Confession #3 - "Kayley you can't see my Dad when he goes to bed because he sleeps without a shirt on. " Karissa informs. "Well that's ok, my Dad sleeps naked." Kayley replied.

Both girls slept completely intertwined and didn't move till the sun came up. Which thanks to "springing ahead" was a bright and early 7:30a.

Snaps

Karissa cannot take credit for the jingle. She learned it from her much older and wiser cousin, Ellie. (Sorry, Beth.)

March-it comes in like a Lion

Or maybe it comes in like a barking seal. After 3 sleepless nights and Matt and I being thrown-up on several times, Addi was officially diagnosed today with a sinus infection. I've found that I am not so nice after many nights of now sleep. Addi is now on antibiotics and seems to be doing a little better this evening.

On a lighter note, pun intended. Here is the swag I won on one of my favorite blogs.
Check your mailbox for Good Mail from me!

Despite not feeling 100 %, Addi never misses a chance to wreak havoc on our living room. Or really any room, purse and all!

Saturday morning Ballet. Karissa loves her friends and teachers.
She always reminds me, she is the Prima Ballerina.

Addi insisted upon getting in on the action today and demanded that she wear her tights and leotard. You know when I was pregnant with Addi, I honestly believed I wouldn't have another prissy girl. Boy-was I wrong. Addi is already trying to only wear dresses. She also loves shoes as much as Karissa and I do. I'm in for it.

I had to take this picture of Matt barbecuing in the rain tonight. It was the pancho and umbrella. He was less than thrilled when he saw me camera in hand. I managed to get this shot of him flipping the steaks because he couldn't flip me off.

How do you spell.....

Last week Karissa asked me how to spell Disneyland. I spelled it out, D-i-s-n-e-y-l-a-n-d.
"NO, Mom! It goes like this, M-i-c-k-e-y M-o-u-s-e!" Karissa shouted.
After far too long for the Kinnons, (our last visit was July 2009), it was time for us to visit our favorite Mouse.

Just before entering the castle there was a Mama Duck and her little chicks. Too sweet.
They even had their own security guard.
Addi ready to rock and roll as usual.

A quick look back to last summer.
They grow way too fast.
Karissa and Goofy. Addi would only come within 3 feet of any character with the exception of...
Minnie! Addi could have hugged her all day.
The wait to see Mickey was about 3 minutes. I've never seen the line that short. We didn't pass up a chance to have some one-on-one time with the Big Cheese.

Small World. Because of the light rain showers on Saturday we pretty much walked on to every ride. Some we went on several times. Like Big Thunder, Karissa's favorite. The only bummer was the Tea Cups, Alice in Wonderland and Matterhorn were closed due to the weather.
One of my favorite places to visit is Pooh's Corner Bakery. Mmmm. That Pooh bear makes the best cookies!
And we usually run into a few of Pooh's friends.
Karissa talked me into going on Splash Mountain. Because we had our rain gear ready we jumped on. Only the top of my head got a little wet. My scream down the big drop surprised me. Karissa was thrilled.

Ready for a Pirate Adventure.
The Jungle Cruise. For some reason Karissa calls this ride the Kazoo.
Because Karissa loves M.J., the Captain EO Tribute was a must. It was great with the exception of the theater rocking to the beat of the music. That got annoying real fast.

Oh and it was in 3D, the girls loved that.
The rest of our day was pretty much standard. We ate a quick dinner at the Plaza Inn. Then I utilized my favorite place, the Baby Center. The girls got changed for the evening in their PJ's with sweats over. That way when we made it to the car they were ready for bed. I had hoped this would ensure us a chance to see the fireworks. In typical Kinnon fashion, we watched the fireworks from the Tram and Parking Garage.
I love this place. We still have the other half of our tickets to use this month and go to
California Adventure Park. We can't wait.

Revelations

Last night Karissa & Addi's cousin, Kelsey, came over to hang with us for a bit. While getting into their jammies I handed Kelsey a pair of her panties we've had for a while. Karissa noticed Kelsey putting them on and said very dramatically, "Kelsey, I didn't realize those are your panties. I guess that's why they give me wedgies!"

This morning on the way to school Karissa announced that she wants to have a Star Wars Birthday party. That way all the Boys will come. It took me a few minutes to realize that she is already thinking that far ahead. I was scared before but now I am frightened.
