Good times

Hello Dr. Kinnon.

Below is a picture of Karissa (the lion) and Luca. We spent the afternoon with my friend Katia and her 2 boys, Luca and Max. After playing for a few hours with Karissa, Luca told his mom that he need a break from her because she talks too much. Karissa told us that she wanted to marry Luca when she gets bigger, but after she marries her dad.

K & A, a week in review.

Here is Karissa feeding the ducks at Rancho Simi Park. These geese were a little aggressive and had no fear of the 3 year old chasing them around.

Addison finally gets to meet her buddy Natalia. Natalia's mom, Janet, and I were pregnant together and Natalia is 6 weeks younger than Addi. Both girls are being held by Natalia's big sister Tatyanna. Addison may be older and bigger but Natalia has way more hair! Addison is 8 weeks old exactly in this picture and Natalia 11 days old.

Karissa, the little mommy. Here she is bikini and all, burping her baby. The sound effects are fantastic. She is so proud when her baby burps just like Addison.

The Start of Something New

This is a picture of Karissa at 2 months old and below is a picure of Addi. They look exactly alike. Addison still has blue eyes and her overall tempermant is more calm that Karissa ever was by far!

Miss Karissa has a new love, (besides her sister). High School Musical. It all started right before Utah. Her older cousins love it too which kept the momentum going. This is her HSM microphone that has 2 songs from the movie that she can sing-a-long with. We have a video and I tried to upload it but it's 62 mg's and too big. We'll upload it to You-tube.

Utah ~ Park City to Price

Our journey to Utah started on July 2. Beth, (my SIL) and I have been planning this trip for quite some time. We knew that the trip would have it's challenges, travelling with a 6 yr old, 2 -3 yr olds and a 6 week old baby (KID COUNT 4) . Our journey began in July 2. We departed Simi Valley at 11:04a and made it to St. George at 8:00pm, before deciding to stay there for the night.

Our journey to Park City continued on July 3. We made it to 2 hrs north to Beaver before pulling in for gas, potty break and feeding time. And there we found out that one of the tires on my Tahoe was showing the steel belts. Had to purchase 2 rear tires. After this set back on our schedule and some traffic on Salt Lake City, we blazed a trail to Park City arriving at 5 pm.

Ah, Park City was amazing. We had the privilege of of staying in a multi-million dollar home. Karissa, Kayley and Ellie all loved the movie theater and jacuzzi. This house was unbelievable. Beth, the kids and I stayed in the Bunk Room. A room with 3 sets of full sizes bunk beds made out of trees (no joke). We went to The Canyons Ski Resort for gondola rides and fireworks. Enjoyed the parade down Park Avenue on the 4th. Went down the alpine slide that the girls loved. Addison was too little to ride and slept quietly in her stroller while mom and Karissa tried our best to catch-up to Auntie Beth and Kayley. We literally had the "pedal to the metal".

On July 6, we said goodbye to Park City and headed to Price, 2 hrs south, to stay with my brother Ryan, his wife Kristy and their 2 kids (KID COUNT 6 - 2 -6 yr olds, 3- 3 year olds and 1 six week old). We stopped in Heber City along the way to visit my Auntie Ann and Uncle Scott, (my mom's brother). We had a great visit while the kids jumped on the trampoline and Addi got a chance to eat in peace.

We arrived in Price to no power. Apparently we had just missed a huge thunder, lightning and hail storm. I love thunder storms in Utah so I was bummed it had passed when we arrived. Uncle Ryan told me that he'd take the kids for a walk while Aunt Kristy and Auntie Beth ran to the store for dinner. After feeding Addi I was curious to see what the kids were up to and saw them riding on my niece Breann's 4 wheel ATV. Karissa was holding on to Breann screaming with delight. (Good thing her dad wasn't there, he would have had a heart attack!)

From Monday through Thursday, July 7-10, we got to know Price. We visited the Dinosaur museum. There have been several findings of dinosaur bones and artifacts of the prehistoric time in Carbon County and throughout eastern Utah. We got the kids pictures taken. That was an interesting experience, bribing 3 year olds to smile - what fun! Took the kids to the wave pool, learned new recipes from Kristy and enjoy her delicious cooking, helped Ryan and Kristy get unpacked from their move and broke up about a hundred 3 year old disagreements over toys. Those 3 year olds can be brutal.

On Thursday July 10, we headed home. Or I should say we were ready to come home and drove as fast as we could stopping 2 times to eat and feed Addi and 2 super short potty emergencies. We departed Price at 9:00a (Mountain Time) and arrived back in Simi at 8:30p.

For those of you who may be wondering..especially me, how Addi withstood the trip. She peacefully slept most of the journey. Unless she lost her binkie or it was fast approaching 4 hours since she had last been fed. Our calm little Addison slept through having tape put in her hair, being colored on, drummed on and after gagging on a goldfish, (Thank you Kayley! I love you!) and throughout all the screaming of Karissa and Kayely ~ she stayed fast asleep. I guess putting an infant in between 2 - 3 year olds wasn't the best idea but that was the way the car seats had to be arranged.

All-in-all, we had a great time and I'd it all over again..but never again without Matt.
