Just wanted to make sure it's public knowledge. We are totally enjoying our time with no TV. Addi and Karissa play together. Both girls have been playing outside with all their friends in the neighborhood. I'm starting to think that TV is a lot more detrimental for our children than we are aware of.

Motherhood
Sometimes Motherhood is so challenging it breaks your heart. Other times Motherhood is so rewarding your broken heart gets stitched back together with the hugs and kisses of the same little heartbreakers.
Matt and I are having a particularly challenging time with Karissa. She is our defiant child who challenges and argues with nearly everything we say. It has been a rough few weeks since school started and we are all getting used to the new routine. In an effort to keep calm and press forward we've made a few changes. We eleminated TV for the kids. They may watch movie on the weekend if it is earned. We are taking a break from gymnastics. The 6 hr a week work-out and the turn to seriousness was not working out well for all involved.
So far it has been a bit calmer and I realize it's a work in progress - or that's what I keep telling myself.

Foot stools - AKA Feet death traps
I've decided kids foot stools are death traps for feet. My kids can never just stand on them! They are always falling off, knocking them over and somehow I am on the receiving end.
While doing Karissa's hair for school in June, she fell off her bathroom foot stool and it came crashing down right on my toe. It throbbed for 2 days. My summer was spent with a very unattractive black toe nail. Now it's ready to come off. Then a few weeks ago while changing Andrew's diaper, my niece was standing next to me helping. Out of nowhere she just toppled off the foot stool and again it came crashing down on top of my foot. It hurt so bad I seriously considered crying for about 10 minutes.
Since these fun experiences I have post traumatic stress disorder whenever I see a foot stool. Maybe I can get some good medication. Ha!
