June from Gloom to Bloom

As many of you may or may not have heard, I was laid-off from Pleasant Holidays on June 18, after 13 years with the company. I miss all my good friends but really feel at peace about my departure. I am blessed to have an opportunity to spend more time with my girls. So it has been a rough week or so, but we seem to be getting through each day.
Yesterday was a very hard day. We had to say goodbye to the couple that has been watching Karissa for the past 3 years and Addi since she was 4 months old. They are the sweetest people and have given our girls a gift that will last them forever. We will always have a special place in our hearts for Mommy Eiko and Daddy Paul and all our Small Wonder friends. We met some amazing families and have shared some great experiences.

On a brighter note. Karissa has been taking swimming lessons every morning for the past 2 weeks and is now officially swimming. She conquered a lot of her fears and is now able to swim virtually unassisted. We are thrilled.
Bottoms up. She pushes her bottom in the air while swimming. It's really funny.

Karissa and the 2 Ella's with their teacher Miss Amy and their ribbons.

Addi and Grandpa. We are so lucky to have my Grandpa still with us and Addi just adores him.

Looking hot in our Ariel shades.

Birthday Celebration

We had a little celebration for the girls birthday. Karissa really wanted to have a party for all her friends. Mostly so that she could have a Princess Castle Jumpy House.

Addi wasn't really sure what to make of all the hoopla.

I think Karissa stopped jumping long enough to blow-out her and Addi's candles.

We had a pinata for each girl. Karissa really wanted to hit the pinata but when her turn came along she refused to even try. She later told us that she didn't want anyone to talk about her. Not sure what that means.

Addi, she takes about 4-5 steps at a time about twice a day.
Then she reverts to crawling to get wherever she needs/wants to be.

Four

On May 30, Karissa turned 4 years old. Here is a quick look back on her 4 years.
Just 1 day old!
1st birthday! (Poor baby had a double ear infection.)

A happier 1 year photo
2 years old! We celebrated at the Beach.
3 years old
4 years old! This is her birthday celebration at Daycare.

A rare shy moment for Karissa. When the spotlight is on her, she becomes very shy.
All she wanted was a Cinderella nightgown.
And her very own tea party with real water.

Looking very grown-up in her new outfit from Aunt Betsy.
